My name is Jackie Bensman,    and I am running again this year to be on the Jonathan Board.

I would like to serve on the Board to help nurture the Jonathan community to grow into the future. I am a mother of two, and am also a step-mother of two. I selected Jonathan for our family because it holds everything that I wanted to nurture our family. I see the Jonathan Association as a way to keep structure and beauty in our community.

I have participated in numerous volunteering efforts with children and adults in the area I also have a continuing relationship volunteering with a woman that lives in the war-torn country of Rwanda. These are just examples of the ways in which I am strongly supportive of having a community that is bonded together for the betterment of our children and our society.

The Jonathan Association is under attack by a small group of people that would like to dissolve the association.  This would directly impact the trails and parks, and also our community.

As a profession, for the past ten years I have owned a real estate & property management business along with my husband that is run out of our home. For the past ten years we have taken buildings that were substandard, and created spaces that people are proud to call their home. I am an apartment owner, owning buildings in Duluth, and understand the difficulties one might have being a property owner.  I am also the designer and webmaster of this website.

My goal if I am elected on the Board is to:
• Cease litigation
• Promote “One Jonathan” and bring back community events
• Support equitable distribution of resources throughout all of the Jonathan area
• Ensure that the common properties are in excellent condition, and something to be proud of again.
• Fairly represent all property owners in Jonathan.
